Government Request for Information


Recently, the media has reported that some phone providers may have turned over customer records to federal government agencies and/or allowed those agencies to intervene in actual conversations. Midcontinent Communications has not been contacted by the federal government or any other regulatory body for categorical access to phone conversations or phone records. Should they contact us, it is our policy to deny such requests unless accompanied by a subpoena signed by an authorized member of the Justice Department. Under the CALEA act, all phone service providers are required to comply with a demand from the judge. Midcontinent values the trust placed in us by our customers, and will do nothing that would jeopardize that relationship.
