Changing POP mail account in Netscape Messenger

1. Open Netscape Messenger
2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences



3. In the Preferences window, click on the + sign to the left of Mail & Newsgroups


4. In the dropdown menu under Mail & Newsgroups, click on Identity


5. In this window, fill in the fields; Your Name, and E-mail address. (This information was supplied to you on a mailer with your new information.)
6. In the dropdown menu under Mail & Newsgroups, click on Mail Servers



7. To the right of the Incoming Mail Servers window, select Edit
8. This will open the Mail Server Properties window


9. In the Server Name field, enter pop.midco.net
10. In the Server Type field, select POP3 Server
11. In the User Name field, enter your new e-mail address. (i.e.johnsmith@sio.midco.net.)
12. Put a checkmark in the box to the left of Remember Password


13. Click OK
14. You should now be back to the Mail Servers window
15. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) Server field, enter smtp.midco.net
16. In the Outgoing mail server user name field, enter your user name. (Once again, your e-mail address.)
17. Click OK at the bottom of the window
18. Congratulations, you are now ready to send and receive mail on your new account
