Changing POP mail account in Outlook Express



  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. From the Tools menu select Accounts

  3. The first thing you will need to do, is remove your mail account
  4. From the Accounts window, click on the mail tab to show your mail accounts
  5. Highlight your mail account, and select remove.(It may just be listed as mail.)

  6. If you are not sure which mail account is your account, highlight the account, and click properties
  7. Once the old e-mail account has been removed, you are ready to add your new mail account
  8. To add your new e-mail account, select Add

  9. Then select Mail on the side menu that pops up
  10. This will bring you to the Internet Connection Wizard

  11. Enter your display name. (How you want your name to appear to mail recipient)
  12. Click Next

  13. Click on the selection I already have an e-mail that I'd like to use
  14. Enter your new e-mail address in the open field. (This was provided to you on a mailer we sent out.)
  15. Click Next

  16. This will bring you to the E-mail Server Names window
  17. Make sure that POP3 is selected in the top field
  18. In the incoming mail server field type: pop.midco.net
  19. In the outgoing mail server field type: smtp.midco.net
  20. Click Next

  21. In the Internet Mail Logon window, you will need to enter your account name
  22. In the Account Name field, enter your e-mail address.(i.e. johnsmith@sio.midco.net)
  23. In the Password field enter your password that you were provided
  24. Check the box in front of Remember Password, or you will need to enter the password each time you check your mail
  25. Click Next

  26. Congratulations, you have set up your new mail account
  27. Click Finish
  28. This will bring you back to the Accounts window, and your new mail account will show up
  29. Close the window, and your ready to send and receive e-mail
