Configuring Wireless Devices - Wireless Setup

Below is related information and resources for wireless network setup on wireless devices. An additional option for Midcontinent Digital Video subscribers is to locate the tutorials in the Instructional Videos folder located under the Webisodes folder on the On Demand Main Menu.

Your wireless network name, or SSID, and wireless network key will be required. Both items are available through MyMidco by signing in and clicking on the Wireless Modem Network Key icon.

If you are unable to configure a device or if it is not listed below, please contact your device provider or manufacturer for additional support.

Top Internet Speeds for Midcontinent Customers

We have been making some technology improvements designed to enhance our broadband capacity. MidcoNet Xstream Wideband is a shift in technology, allowing Midcontinent Communications to deliver up to 100 Mbps downloads and 15 Mbps uploads–speeds unmatched in the three-state area we serve. Our goal is to deploy advanced technologies to ensure an outstanding customer experience now and well into the future.

Current customers will receive an automatic boost in Internet speeds at no additional cost.

MidcoNet Xstream® Wideband 3.0 will offer up to 100 Mbps downloads and 15 Mbps uploads
MidcoNet Xstream® Wideband 2.0 will offer up to 50 Mbps downloads and 10 Mbps uploads
MidcoNet Xstream® Wideband 1.0 will offer up to 30 Mbps downloads and 5 Mbps uploads

Why does capacity matter?

Midcontinent Communications is excited to bring customers the best HD experience possible. Our HD service is just one of the ways we provide the latest technology and the best programming to our customers throughout our service area.

Owning an HDTV is just one step in being able to enjoy the benefits of a true HD quality signal. Older analog and even the newer digital-tuner TVs can produce good picture quality, but without an HDTV, you simply are not enjoying the true quality HD has to offer.

To access the HD programming, you will also need an HD receiver. Customers with a receiver that do not have the Preferred Cable line-up can still view the local broadcast channels that may be available in your area and customers that subscribe to the Preferred Cable line-up will also enjoy the many HD cable channels currently available.

It's important to also remember that even though the channel is available in HD, this does not necessarily mean you are watching it in HD. Each HD channel provides a variety of programs in both HD and non-HD quality. In order for the program to be HD, the program must be produced and transmitted in HD on an HD channel.

HD programming is limited to the programming provided to Midcontinent Communications in HDTV format by the provider. We continue to look for new and better ways to provide you the very best HD entertainment available.
