We continue to develop strategies to encourage a diverse pool of applicants and increase the image and attraction of Midcontinent to under-represented groups as the employer of choice. Diversity education and training for all Midcontinent employees  helps our organization create an inclusive environment where employee similarities and differences are recognized, understood, and valued. It is important for our managers to have an understanding of diversity in the workplace in order to hire, retain and manage effectively.

External Partnerships/Community Involvement

At Midcontinent, we believe it is important to support our communities by giving our time and our talents where they can make a difference. Midcontinent actively supports organizations that work with minority populations through event sponsorships, public service announcements and cash awards from the Midcontinent Foundation. We have supported the Multi-Cultural Center, the Annual Festival of Nations in Sioux Falls (past recipient of the Festival's Business of the Year Award), the South Dakota Chapter of the NAACP, Volunteers of America, Centro Hispano, the Sioux Council Boy Scouts Hispanic Soccer Program, among others.

Supplier/Vendor Relations

As a growing business, we are eager to expand our supply chain through diverse partnerships. As a federal contractor, we are committed to affirmative action. We welcome a variety of vendors and suppliers and are striving to maintain a diverse list of companies in the communities we serve. Our goal is to expand our supplier diversity program to better support smaller organizations, and those run by women and minorities by allowing these vendors the opportunity to supply Midcontinent with various products and services. By developing diverse suppliers, it allows us to continue to support our local communities. Do Business with Midcontinent!
