Case Study: Automotive Service Center, Brookings

Situation

 
The Automotive Service Center (ASC) in Brookings was using radio as their only advertising medium and owner Kevin King felt that they were not having a lot of success getting the message out. King was frustrated and thought his ads on the radio made them sound just like every other car repair business in town. He felt that nothing really set him apart and his message was not getting though. It was time for something different to cut through the “clutter.”

King chose to advertise with Midcontinent to have his message include not only voice, but video. The video and graphics allowed him to really show what services he had to offer. His new commercials featured his service techs working on cars and helping solve customers' problems. Cable also gave him a competitive price and the frequency he needed to get his message out. One of their commercials focused on servicing foreign vehicles. King felt this was a need that was not being met in his market.

 

“The results of this ad have been tremendous,” he said. “We have received a lot of feedback and the image created by our advertising has allowed us to be now considered one of the premiere foreign car repair facilities in the area!” This has also resulted in a lot of new business and great referrals from satisfied customers.
