Minimum System Requirements

PC Systems: Pentium 200 MHz or equivalent, 64 MB of RAM, 150 MB free hard drive space. Midcontinent Communications will support Windows operating systems that are supported by Microsoft. Please check with Microsoft for their supported Windows versions.

Apple Systems: PowerMac G3 or higher, 64 MB of RAM, 50 MB free hard drive space, Mac OS 8.6, Open Transport 1.1.1, grounded electrical outlets, Ethernet connection.

Minimum System Requirements For Wireless Modems

PC Systems: (same as non-wireless)

Apple Systems: PowerMac G3 or higher, 64 MB of RAM, 125 MB free hard drive space, Mac OS 10.2 or higher. There must also be a wireless communications card already installed in a Macintosh computer before our technicians can set up wireless communications.

Approved Modems

Customers may choose to purchase a modem from Midcontinent or from another retailer. The following is a listing of compatible cable modems that may be purchased through other resources.  Please make sure the modem you purchase is DOCSIS 2.0 compatible.

In the best interest of our customers and to ensure the quality of network connectivity, Midcontinent will not offer service through modems not on this list. If you have questions, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-888-1300 prior to purchasing a modem.
