All Digital Cable Event

Sioux Falls, SD July 22, 2010 -- Midcontinent  Communications has announced that they will be upgrading their network in Huron, Miller, St. Lawrence, and Wolsey, beginning in November. To help customers understand the process and answer any questions they might have about the upgrade, a series of informational events will be held in Huron. The first event is scheduled for August 5th at the Huron Event Center.

“We are continuing efforts to make the most efficient use of bandwidth in order to provide additional HD channels, more On Demand programming, and even faster Broadband speeds to all of our customers,” said Tom Simmons, senior vice president of public policy at Midcontinent.

Upon completion of the network upgrade, after November 1, 2010, Midcontinent’s Basic Cable channels 23-99 will be transmitted exclusively in digital format (Limited Cable channels 2-22 are not affected by this change). After November 1st, digital equipment from Midcontinent or a television with an internal digital tuner will be required in order for customers to view Basic Cable channels 23 and above. Customers are eligible to receive up to two Digital Adapters free of leasing charges, said Simmons. The first event is as follows:
