What do you need to know about the Digital Transition?

New! The deadline for the DTV Transition has officially been extended to June 12, 2009

Top 2 Things You Need to Know about DTV 2009

1. You Already Have Cable: If all of your televisions are currently connected to cable, you DO NOT NEED to make any adjustments for the Digital Transition.

2. You Don’t Have Cable: If your television (or one of your televisions) uses an antenna or "rabbit ears," you DO NEED to either contact Midcontinent to have your TV connected to cable, or get a digital-to-analog tuner converter box in order to view the broadcast channels you are presently viewing.

Midcontinent Customers: Special Information about digital channels ...

If you are an existing Midcontinent customer and your TV is connected to an active cable outlet, you will continue to receive channels that are broadcast in analog format after the transition. Your cable connection will convert them to the digital format for you. In addition, we want our customers to know that our current initiative to upgrade some analog channels to digital in order to improve network efficiency and the variety of High Definition networks, is an action unrelated to the federally-mandated 2009 DTV Transition.
