Midcontinent Communications Puts You in Control

With the wide variety of programming available on cable channels, we recognize that not all programs or channels are suitable for every member of your family. For this reason, Midcontinent offers FREE channel blocking.

Channel blocking is available for all subscribers. Simply call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-888-1300 to request that a channel be blocked. Midcontinent will prevent that channel from reaching your home. Other channel blocking options include a V-Chip or Parental Controls.

Blocking Channels With The V-Chip

The V-Chip has been built in new televisions since January of 2000—in some models since July of 1999. Working in conjunction with the TV Parental Guidelines, parents are allowed to block out programs by rating. Consult your television manual to learn how to turn on this function.

For more information, click to download the V-Chip PDF that explains in detail the V-Chip and TV Rating system.

Parental Controls and Purchasing PINS

For digital cable customers, the i-Guide shows you how to block channels with a few clicks of the remote. You have precise control over blocking and it can be changed as needed. With Parental Controls, you can easily block programming if you have young children visiting your home then restore the programming when they leave. In addition, you can restrict access to Pay-Per-View purchasing.
