Passwords are an important aspect of computer security. Passwords should be changed regularly (every 3 months is a good rule of thumb) and should not be given to anyone via email. English words, names of family members, pets, fantasy characters, computer terms and commands, birthdays and phone numbers, word or number patterns, are poor choices for passwords. Better choices are passwords with both upper and lower case characters and also include letters, digits and punctuation.
