Why should I check my bandwidth usage?

In general, the MyMidco™ Bandwidth Utilization Report will help you become aware of what your average day-to-day network usage looks like. Sudden spikes or changes in bandwidth usage that you cannot explain might be an indication you have a virus or spyware on a computer or someone near your home is using your wireless connection without your knowledge. However, an infected computer or a nearby hacker may not be the cause. Sometimes, sudden spikes in usage might be due to a technical glitch so this possible cause should be considered as well. Please note that a one-day big jump in usage is usually nothing to be concerned about but usage that goes up significantly and stays up for several days should be observed and investigated.
